Canopies

A canopy is supported by not less than one post or stanchion.  It may be partially supported by a building or a structure or completely free-standing.  For contractors and specifiers, canopies fall under CSI Code 10 73 16.  Canopies are versatile and can be used in various commercial and residential applications.  Some applications that canopies can be used for are entrances and valet areas, large pavillions, terraces and patios, to create protected spaces for outdoor restaurant seating and events, hotel and resort areas and walkways, hospitals, MRI's, covered escalator canopies, carports and multi-carports for parking, parks, sports canopies for golf, tennis, baseball, swimming pools, marinas and docks, service centers, commercial spaces, aircraft hangers, and whatever else you can imagine.  Miami Awning Company has 81 years of experience in providing our clients with superior design and service that can be depended on.

Awnings

Awnings are totally supported on a building without the addition of posts.  There are various styles that can be used for commercial and residential applications.  Some styles can be used over smaller areas such as windows and entries.  They can also be made to cover and provide protection over large areas.  Some of the various shapes are:  lean-to, concave, dome, elongated dome and quarter round.  Awnings enhance the architectural features of a building, provide protection from the elements, and provide energy savings. 

Awnings have been "green" thoughout the years.  Awnings keep your energy costs down by blocking the sun's heat in warmer months.  The American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers shows that an awning can reduce heat gain by 55 to 65 percent on southern-facing windows and 72 to 77 percent on western exposures.
